Abstract

From a number of research articles on the values ​​of character education that have been carried out by a number of experts, it is known that research on character education in poetry, especially Indonesian children's poetry by Siti Aenah, has never been carried out. This research was conducted using analytical descriptive and hermeneutical methods. Analytical and hermeneutical descriptive methods are carried out by describing the facts followed by hermeneutical analysis and interpretation.         Based on the description above, it can be concluded that the values ​​of character education are found in Siti Aenah's poem entitled Strand of Poems of a Teacher (2018). The values ​​of character education that care about the environment are specifically found in the poems entitled "Embun", "Butterflies", Garbage", "Stars", "Bird Song", "Flood", "Missing My Village", "River" , “Sea”, “Mountains”, “Aquarium”, “Rain”, “Flower Garden”, Plane”, “Train”, “My Small Town”, “Mango Tree”, and “Eid”.
